In August 2026, the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP17) convened in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, drawing nearly 12,000 delegates from 197 Parties. Faced with unfamiliar venue layouts, unpredictable on-site conditions, and the stringent execution standards of the UN system, the mission was a true test of the team’s emergency response expertise and agile resource coordination. TAIDEN’s composure under pressure stems directly from extensive battle-tested experience accumulated over years of serving premier international organizations and high-level global summits.
With eight tented meeting rooms spread across a 130,000-square-meter footprint and the temporary warehouse over a kilometer away, the team swiftly instituted a “central hub + forward deployment” dispatch mechanism. By meticulously mapping out logistics routes, they enabled rapid equipment response and precise replenishment across all zones.
The temporary tented structures lacked any fixed infrastructure, requiring overhead cabling and power distribution to be built entirely from scratch. Demonstrating exceptional engineering capabilities, the team supplied a complete array of cabling and power solutions, executing the end-to-end installation and commissioning of all conference facilities within a tight timeframe.
The on-site operations entailed high-density, multi-trade coordination across lighting, video displays, furniture, and raised flooring. Proactively conducting advance site surveys and leveraging extensive global event experience, the project team implemented strategic scheduling and cross-party coordination to ensure seamless transitions across all construction phases.
Both the system architecture and its deployment were required to strictly comply with stringent UN standards while fully conforming to Mongolian local regulations. Adhering to world-class service standards, the team achieved high-caliber, dual-compliant delivery, guaranteeing flawless performance across all conference systems.
Up against a grueling timeline and the simultaneous execution of 37 venues, the TAIDEN team dispatched tens of thousands of equipment units truck by truck using cranes along a one-kilometer muddy road. On the ground, 13 engineers from China led 20 local workers, overcoming language barriers and skill gaps. From refining solutions pre-event to maintaining around-the-clock coverage across hundreds of high-intensity sessions, the TAIDEN team remained steadfast on site throughout, safeguarding the seamless success of the summit through unwavering professionalism and dedication.
During the conference, the TAIDEN team not only fulfilled its own responsibilities to perfection, but its collaborative spirit under an extreme timeline also earned high acclaim from international partners-a sentiment echoed firsthand by Ömer Sebat, Head of IT for COP17.
He highlighted that within less than two months, TAIDEN completed the setup, commissioning, and deployment of equipment across more than 30 meeting rooms. What impressed him most, however, was TAIDEN’s constant readiness to step in whenever the organizers or partner teams needed extra assistance. Even when requests fell outside its strict contractual scope, the team proactively coordinated, shared expertise, and provided unconditional support.
