The IISS Asia Security Summit: The Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD) is a "Track One" inter-governmental security forum held annually by an independent think tank, the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) which is attended by defense ministers, permanent heads of ministries and military chiefs of Asia-Pacific states. The forum gets its name from the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore where it has been held since 2002.
Since 2015, TAIDEN HCS-1081 Wireless E-ink Nameplates has been applied in IISS series meetings. Paper nameplate was their previous solution which caused heavy managing workload and great waste of paper. In 2015, TAIDEN rental partner, Congress Rental Europe got the honor to demonstrate the E-ink nameplate solution to the IISS Headquarters in the UK. The TAIDEN E-ink nameplate was highly acclaimed for its elegant design with ultra-thin two-sided screen. The E-ink screen provides a soft, non-glaring, paper-like display with a wide viewing angle of near 180 degrees, resulting in a perfect effect when being photographed or videoed. Meeting operators may edit and change the display contents anytime via TAIDEN nameplate management software. The wireless version, HCS-1081, can be reallocated flexibly according to seating arrangements. The display content would stay permanently even when power is cut off, meaning low power consumption and a very environmental friendly solution. The successful demonstration had acquired TAIDEN E-ink nameplate a seat in IISS series meetings since then.
