The Convention concluded successfully with the wide-ranging agreement, known as the Nusa Dua Declaration, which underscores the vital importance of biodiversity, the urgent need to combat climate change and to work towards a positive outcome and the advantages gained from advancing towards a “green economy”. “The ministers responsible for the environment, meeting just over a month after the climate change conference in Copenhagen, have spoken with a clear, united and unequivocal voice,” said UNEP Executive Director Achim Steiner.
During the whole convention from 21st through 26th February, there have been almost 100 meetings of large or small sizes held in Bali. More than one thousand environment ministers, civil society representatives, experts, high-profile environmental figures and important press representatives from around the world gathered here for discussions on the largest global environmental issue, and finally attendees came to an agreement.
Shenzhen TAIDEN Industrial Co., Ltd. provided TAIDEN fully digital conference systems and digital infra-red simultaneous interpretation systems for all the conferences and meetings during the UNEP Convention. In total 692 seats of HCS-4100/20 series fully digital conference system chairman/delegate units, 1600 seats of HCS-5100 series digital IR receivers and more than 40 pieces HCS-4382K2/20 fully digital interpreter units were installed in all the convention venues, implementing discussion and simultaneous interpretation functions. Beside TAIDEN systems, TAIDEN and TAIDEN partner in Indonesia sent about 20 engineers and some other personnel to provide technical support and on-site conference service, in order to guarantee a perfect performance of the TAIDEN systems and a successful convention.

With perfect performance, stable operation and active service, TAIDEN fully digital conference systems and digital IR simultaneous interpretation systems attracted attendees’ attention. The TAIDEN staff met universal approval from the Convention sponsor, the Indonesian Government, the delegates and the interpreters, expressly underlining the perfect sound quality and the service. The Chinese delegation paid a compliment to TAIDEN for perfectly handling such a large UN convention. The sponsor issued a letter of recommendation.
It was also disclosed that TAIDEN conference systems will be used in a large upcoming conference for 600 ~ 700 attendees in Bali as well as in next year’s Alxa SEE meeting.
TAIDEN HCS-4385K2/20 fully digital interpreter units, the new generation of simultaneous interpreter units, performed noticeable well during the convention. Its comprehensive functions and ergonomic design was highly praised by the interpreters. Interpreters of Arabic were delighted to have 3 output buttons on HCS-4385K2/20 for the target language. The current version HCS-4385K2/20 features 5 pre-select buttons for selecting a source language and 3 output buttons to select the target language, enabling a quick switch operation for the interpreters - a very convenient solution for Arabic interpreters who need English/French/Arabic as target languages.
Interpreters appreciated the “REP.” and “HELP” buttons on HCS-4385K2/20. The REP. button enables input audio playback, if the interpreter does not understand a sentence or parts of a sentence. Playback duration is adjustable. The HELP button is used in conjunction with a PC and the application software. HELP information will be displayed on the status bar in the application software.
HCS-4385K2/20 has an ergonomic design with markers to feel out by touching for blind interpreters. Thus faultless operation is achievable, as the convention gave evidence of!

The sponsor’s goal setting was to guarantee an environment-friendly course of the Convention, including carbon emission reduction or advertising & propaganda paper reduction. Taiden is proud to have contributed with its fully digital conference systems and digital IR simultaneous interpretation systems to the success of the convention which was dealing with the important issue for a sustainable development and a green economy. TAIDEN systems – a bridge to understanding by communication.
Compared with out-of-time analog IR system, the HCS-5100 series digital IR simultaneous interpretation system offers many advantages such as a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR): The SNR for an analog IR system does not surpass 55 dB; it may even worsen if the IR receiver’s distance to the radiator is increasing. The SNR for the digital HCS-5100 exceeds 80 dB and is not subject to reduction if the distance increases. TAIDEN system holds some global leading technologies such as the perfect CD sound quality issued by the microphones, providing a very clear audio which is in no way impaired by HF driven light sources. As a result a perfect intelligibility between chairman, delegates and interpreters guarantees successful meetings.
